What is Pompeii and Sorrento tour
A guided tour departing from Naples to discover Pompeii and Sorrento. You will first visit Pompeii, the city buried by ash and lapilli during the 79′ eruption of Vesuvius, and then Sorrento, with its spectacular view of the entire Bay of Naples.
HOW THE ACTIVITY TAKES PLACE
The Pompeii and Sorrento tour begins at 10:00 a.m. at your accommodation in Naples, where a transfer will take you to the first stop on the tour.
You will first reach the excavations of Pompeii, where your guide will take you on a tour of about 2 hours to see the Forum with the most important public buildings, the ancient baths, the Lupanare, the theaters, workshops, frescoes and mosaics of the Domus, buried by a shower of lapilli during the eruption of 79 B.C.
At the end of the two-hour tour there will be a short lunch break and then continue by minibus to the Sorrento Peninsula. You will be able to admire along the way the impressive medieval castle from which the town of Castellammare di Stabia takes its name and the small beaches of Vico Equense and Seiano .
A stop at the belvedere of Meta di Sorrento is planned to enjoy the sheer sea view of the bay that reaches as far as the island of Capri. You will also be able to visit Sorrento for about an hour thanks to the guide who will show you the most characteristic places of the town while walking through the narrow streets full of stores and artisan workshops. Finally, the tour will end with a visit to the Villa Comunale, one of the most scenic places in Sorrento from where you can admire the beauty of the gulf all the way to Punta Campanella.
Return to the hotel is scheduled for about 5 p.m.
