Sunday 30th October

What is the event of trekking and chestnut harvesting

On Sunday, October 30, 2022, in Antrodoco(RI) near Rome, there will be an organized trekking among the chestnut groves in the lands of the Antrodocano Chestnut, a prized variety of chestnut with the PGI mark.

An outdoor event that combines the pleasure of walking through the woods, tinged with autumn colors, with the harvesting and tasting of chestnuts.

Accompanying you on the adventure will be two hiking guides and one of the area’s leading chestnut producers, who will reveal all the secrets about grafting techniques, growing and harvesting chestnuts.

At the end of the trek, after harvesting up to 3kg of chestnuts per person, you can take them home and enjoy them whenever you want.

But the experience does not end there: a stop at a small hut, a typical dwelling immersed in the woods, is planned, where you can enjoy a barbecue lunch and taste the roasted chestnuts, cooked on the traditional steel sheet pan over the embers.

A day of fun and sharing, surrounded by nature and typical local flavors.
