What is Packrafting
The packraft is an inflatable craft created for use on expeditions in extreme environments such as Alaska or Patagonia, where there is a need for a lightweight and compact means of navigation that can be carried on a backpack and used when necessary to cross fjords, lakes or go down rivers.
It is a boat similar to both a raft and an inflatable canoe. Single-seater it is conducted with a double paddle like a Kayak.
Very safe and easy to conduct, it allows even a neophyte accompanied by a guide and well equipped to approach even 1st grade and 2nd grade rivers right away.
HOW THE ACTIVITY TAKES PLACE
Packrafting on the Velino River, in Rome, begins at 10:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. at the meeting point indicated on the map.
A tour on the Velino River, the largest tributary of the Nera River and the largest subaffluent of the Tiber River, will allow you to discover the beauty of the city from a new and original angle.
You will reach by suv the embarkation point and after a short briefing you will enter the water. You will go through a calm stretch of water at first, and then the experience will become increasingly adrenaline-pumping. Stops are also planned to take some photos and admire the surrounding scenery.
You will arrive at the Cavallotti Bridge where you will face the most fun stretch on a short rapid and then continue until you enter the city center, where the current slows down and you can relax and let yourself be carried away among the buildings of the old town and the remains of the Roman bridge among ducks and mallards.

WHO IS THE ACTIVITY FOR
Packrafting on the Velino River is an ideal activity even for newcomers to the sport as the raft is simple to conduct. It is only necessary to know how to swim and be in good health.
