WHAT IS THE E-BIKE TOUR
An E-bike is a bicycle equipped with an electric motor that facilitates pedaling. With the Appia Antica Bike Tour you will have the opportunity to test your cycling skills, cycling on the cobblestones of the oldest road of the Roman Empire and visit some of the most impressive catacombs of Rome.
HOW THE ACTIVITY TAKES PLACE
The e-bike tour of the Appia Antica starts at 9 a.m. at the Lungotevere delle Armi. You will get to know some of the places less known to tourists, but no less interesting, such as the elegantly beautiful thermal baths, majestic aqueducts and obscure catacombs, but also the Orange Garden, from where you can admire a breathtaking view of St. Peter’s, looking through the keyhole of a gate.
This tour is designed to combine architectural beauty with a long nature walk.
Your guide will lead you through impressive Aqueducts, landmarks such as the Catacombs of San Callisto, Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella, Quo Vadis, and through the Appia Antica Regional Park. You can also decide whether to have access to one of the Catacombs on the Appia Antica or to the Roman Aqueducts by choosing the 5-hour tour option.
WHO IS THE ACTIVITY FOR
The e-bike tour in Rome is an activity of easy difficulty. However, you will be trained by qualified staff who will accompany you throughout the adventure. Children under 9 years of age can participate free of charge on the seat of your bike or, if over 5 years old, tow them with the ‘cammellino‘, a towing bike specially designed for toddlers. Children from 140 cm upwards can ride an E-bike independently.
